Rewrite each sentence below, replacing the inflated diction with clear, straightforward words. The responses of the public to the survey...

These examples aren't all that bad, really.  There are
much more severe examples of gobbledygook being cranked out every day by bureaucrats,
corporations, school administrators, and even teachers.  Sometimes it's simply a matter
of laziness and illiteracy; other times, it's a deliberate attempt to obfuscate. 
Obfuscate?  That's a fancy word that just means to fog up, to hide something behind a
storm of five-dollar words.


Anyway, here's my attempt at
rewriting these gems in a language called English.


a)
People are concerned that the roads are dangerous.


b)
Whenever she got fed up with life, she would lie down and read a good
book.


c) The new dish soap left an ugly scum on the
glasses.
